Terrorism and the pandemic have very much highlighted the important and often risky work that security officers perform around the clock. Internationally security officers have sadly suffered injuries, health issues and sometimes death from both terrorism attacks and the pandemic during the execution of their duties.

Even away from the headline events of terrorism and COVID-19, security officers have been victims of violent crime while carrying out their duties protecting life and property.

They are often the first responders to serious incidents and the first to move people to safety.

It’s time to pause and show appreciation to them.
